Messenger Pigeon

Ok, Lucy, I am starting to feel a little neglected.  Are you going to post on this blog, or what?  And don't say "or what."  :)  Anyway, here is another painting from the National Gallery that I loved.

This painting is called The Love Letter and was painted by Francois Boucher in about 1750.  In my mind, I decided that these two girls were probably sisters, just like us.

You must be the girl in pink on the right side since she has lighter hair.  See?
Plus, if you look closely, you will see that her index toe is actually just a little bit longer than her big toe.  So it has to be you.  :)  I'm pretty sure if I could have zoomed in closer on the the fingers of the girl in the blue dress, we would be able to see how crooked they are.
The greatest thing about this whole painting though, is the fact that the love letter was clearly delivered by a messenger pigeon.  So. Cool.  Why don't we use messenger pigeons anymore?!
Judging by the look on my face here, I think I am saying, "Ok seriously, you need to tell [boyfriend's name] to stop using messenger pigeons.  This thing just pooped all over my dress."  And that is probably why we don't use messenger pigeons anymore.  Pigeons really are quite messy.

  1. And I completely agree that I must be the one in the pink because of the toes, and because we all know that I love wearing pink more than you do :)
