Portraits

Here are a few more pictures from the National gallery:

 This one is called Bianca Maria Sforza.  It was painted by Amrogia de Predis in about 1493. 

This one is called Portrait of a Lady by Bernardino Luini in about 1520.  If we have learned anything here I think it's that, if you are going to have a portrait painted, you want Mr. Luini to do it.  Not that Ms. Sforza's portrait didn't turn out nice in it's own way...but she seriously looks bored to tears in her portrait.  Makes you wonder how long she had to sit there posing while the artist painted.


This lovely painting is called The Wife of Hasdrubal and Her Children.  It was done by Ercole de' Roberti in about 1490.  And it does not make me want to have children.  Unless I could be guaranteed that my children would turn out like the darling boy below.

This is A Young Woman and Her Little Boy by Agnolo Bronzino in about 1540.  Lovely!
