Good News and Bad News

Hello Lucy,

So...we may need to shorten our trip across the country.  It's just that I counted up all the places I wanted to stop and realized it was going to take us like 27 days to get to California.  That seemed a little excessive.  And a little expensive.  And a little crazy.  Also, as it turns out, the movers said they may want to deliver my stuff as early as September 26th.  So we kind of need to be back by then.

I was having a terrible time trying to figure out how we could get back to California in only 10 days AND make all the stops I wanted to make.  Sadly, I don't think it can be done.  So then I was left with the difficult task of picking which stops to skip.  :(  I think we may have to drop the trip to Blanchard Springs Cavern in Arkansas.  I am very sad about this.  BUT, I do have some good news.  I just saved a ton of money on my car insurance by switching to GEICO.  (Hah - kidding.  I have actually been with GEICO for quite a while).  No the real good news is that I think I have found another, more convenient place to see some caverns!  I really want to go see The Natural Bridge in Virginia.  I've wanted to see it ever since I moved out here.  I've just never had the chance.  So I thought maybe I should see it on my way out of the state.  Nothing like the last minute!  Anyway, when I was looking at the Natural Bridge website, I noticed that you can also purchase tickets for the Natural bridge caverns!  See for yourself!

So if we stop in Natural Bridge we get to see the bridge AND the caverns.  Judging by the looks of happiness and wonder on the faces of the people on the website, I think we will enjoy our time there.

I'm sorry to skip our stop in Arkansas, but I hope that the Natural Bridge Caverns will help appease you.  We may also need to skip some stops in New Mexico and Arizona...but fortunately those are quite close to home.  We can dedicate a later trip solely to Arizona and New Mexico if we like.  Maybe we should go to New Mexico for the hot air balloon festival next year!  I really do want to go on a hot air ballon ride someday.

Well, I will see you very soon, Lucy!

Love,
Georgia
